A nationally renowned centre for Endometriosis diagnosis & treatment.

Bristol is fortunate enough to be home to one of the UK's leading centres of expertise in the treatment of Endometriosis and other pelvic conditions.

The Bristol Endometriosis Clinic brings together leading consultants in gynaecology, general and colorectal surgery, and urology.

We work together at The Bristol Spire Hospital for private patients and at Southmead Hospital for NHS patients. Our close working relationship means that we are able to focus on the best treatment for each patient. This individualised planning takes into account the extent of the disease, the impact of the disease on the quality of life, and desire for pregnancy. Our team has been recognised as one of the first Endometriosis Centres in the UK, by the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE)

This teamworking has been recommended by the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

Endometriosis, a big issue with little publicity.

If you know – or at least suspect – that you suffer from Endometriosis, then you are far from alone. The condition affects literally millions of women in the UK and it is believed that around 10% to 15% of all women of childbearing age may have the condition.

A chronic disease, which often has symptoms going back to teenage years, the condition frequently remains undiagnosed for many years. That may mean years spent in discomfort and in some circumstances debilitating pain, which erodes quality of life. Education, career, and social life and relationships with partners and family can all suffer.

Not to mention the significant part Endometriosis plays as a cause of infertility.
